How Far In Advance Do I Need To Book ?
The Orient Silk Road Express offers these Silk Road trips with only a few departures throughout the year. Therefore, we advise clients to book well in advance to avoid disappointment. This is particularly true for the more expensive cabins that are in high demand. Many people book at minimum one year in advance. Sometimes, they reserve for much longer.
Is Central Asia Safe To Travel To ?
Train travel in Central Asia had a somewhat poor reputation in the past. However, it is now safe and easy for most people. Your train is a private one so access is restricted to tour participants only. Our guides are committed to your safety during your entire trip.
Can You Book International Flights For Us ?
Absolutely! Because we have an ATOL license, it allows us to book internal or international flights. We are an appointed operator and have great access to the best British Airways offers. Simply let us know which airports and we will give you a quote.
Are Your Tours Financially Protected ?
Yes! All our trips come with financial protection either through our ATOL – license number 10287 – if the trip includes a flight or insurances which comply with the UK package travel regulations for any trip that does not include a flight. In addition our ABTA membership – number Y1699 – means we must adhere to their strict code of conduct.
Can You Obtain & Advise On The Visas For Us ?
Visas can be complex. We recommend consulting a specialist and making arrangements with CIBT VisaCentral. They offer a reliable service to obtain all necessary visas for your trip. We will provide all necessary documentation to accompany your application.
What Is The Difference Between The Train Cabin Classes ?

What Are The Booking And Payment Terms ?
Booking is easy once you’ve decided on the departure date and have discussed any extensions or add-ons that you may need at the beginning and end of your trip. We will need you to complete the booking forms. Once your trip is confirmed, we request a 20% non-refundable down payment. Full payment is required at least 90 days before trip commences.

★ We regret that due to the intricate logistics of this tour, itinerary changes are sometimes unavoidable.
★ International flights, tips, beverages, visa fees and any services not mentioned are not included in the price.
★ Cancellation conditions:
Up to 90 days prior to departure: 20 % of total price
Up to 42 days prior to departure: 50% of total price
Up to 1 day prior to departure: 90% of total price
Any part of the programme that is missed because of late arrival is non-refundable.
