How many carriages are there on the Palace on wheels?
Palace on Wheels has 14 carriages with themed decor that can accommodate 82 passengers in a single departure.

How far in advance of departure should I arrive?
Arriving in Delhi a few days before your train’s departure is recommended.
What is the dress code on The Palace on Wheels?
There is no specific dress code for guests onboard. The guests can wear smart casuals or comfortable clothing onboard.
What clothing should I bring for off train excursions?
Avoid wearing leather clothing during your trip. Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat will help protect you from the sun in the afternoon. Sneakers and comfortable clothing are ideal for sightseeing. When visiting temples you should wear clothing that covers your shoulders and legs. You should also remove your shoes prior to entering the temple grounds. It is common for women to wear a scarf over their heads when praying. In December and January it is recommended to wear warm clothing.
What styles of food are served on board?
The guest can choose between Chinese, American and Continental cuisines. You should inform the chef or train manager of any food allergies or special dietary requirements at the beginning of your journey.
Is there a laundry service?
The laundry and dry cleaning services are available to guests aboard the train at an extra charge. The same service would be provided on the next day or destination.
Is the train accessible for wheelchairs?
The train cabin can be accessed by a wheel chair. To avoid any inconvenience, it is recommended to notify the us in advance if you require wheel chair services.
Is bottled water available?
Each room has mineral water in a bottle. Ask your room attendant to provide you with complimentary mineral water.
Are there any additional charges?
All costs are included in the Palace on Wheel luxury rail travel. You will not be charged for food, tea, coffee, water, entrance to monuments, sightseeing and accommodation. Only wine, soft drinks, alcohol or juices are subject to additional charges. Additional charges are also required for services and facilities such as additional toiletries, laundries, camera fees in monuments, etc.
Is there currency exchange?
Banks and money changers are authorized to exchange currencies. You can withdraw money from ATMs in cities.
Is there an onboard doctor?
No, but there are doctors at every destination. Let your attendant know if you need medical assistance.
Is there an emergency contact number?
Your travel voucher will list all the important emergency numbers.
Is there internet on board?
Internet connectivity is available to all passengers on board.
Is the train secure?
Onboard, there are modern and appropriate security measures in place to ensure the safety of passengers and their possessions. Each cabin has electronic lockers to store valuable items.
How much luggage can I bring on to the train?
We advise and request that guests carry their luggage in accordance with the international standards for airlines.
What onboard entertainment is there?
Onboard, you can play indoor games like Chinese Checker and Crossword Puzzle. You can also play Carom Boards, Cards, Chess or Crossword Puzzle. Each saloon has a lounge where guests can relax, meet new people, play games, and interact.
