Palace on Wheels Restaurants
The Palace on Wheels train features two dining cars, Maharajah and Maharani. In the Kitchen Saloon attached to each car is a freshly prepared international menu. Maharajah Restaurant and Maharani Restaurant are the names of the two restaurants. Guests will feel like kings or queens while dining. Two dining cars are available on the Palace on Wheels. They have a spacious arrangement for seating so that guests can feel comfortable and they will be served by staff dressed in traditional clothing. Restaurants offer delicious food, whether it is traditional or continental. Guests can also choose from a wide range of traditional meals, including Non-Vegetarian and Vegetarian Meals.
Maharajah Restaurant
The Palace on Wheels luxury rail train’s opulent dining car, dubbed ‘Maharajah,’ lives up to its name. The name translates to ‘Great King,’ and guests will be able to enjoy food as if they were a King. The ceiling and walls of the train, as well as its flooring, reflect a regal atmosphere. The finely carved furniture and the decor are done in a royal manner.
Maharani Restaurant
The Palace on Wheels has two or more lavish dining cars, both of which are named ‘Great Queen.’ The train’s interior is opulent and shows the King’s lifestyle. The interior of this restaurant is characterised by its royal fabric, with old prints and side-wall mounted lampshades. In the atmosphere of a 5-star deluxe hotel, guests can enjoy traditional meals with a royal feel. Seating is similar in each of the onboard dining cars. The dining area has two dining tables, one for those who enjoy a quiet meal together or a romantic evening and another for four people. There are four chairs at the table. It is perfect for guests who want to talk over a delicious meal. The tables in both restaurants are flanked by panoramic windows. All guests in both dining cars can enjoy the stunning views of the landscape as they eat.
Cuisine on the Palace On Wheels
Palace on Wheels is committed to providing its passengers with a five-star hotel experience in all aspects of their journey, which includes dining. Two different restaurants are located at either end of the train. While the decor of each restaurant is different, the rest of the elements remain the same. Fresh food is served at the restaurants. Ingredients for the day can be purchased the day before, or at the destination.
The menu changes according to the location. You can expect to be served Mughal-style cuisine in Agra and Mewar-style cuisine in Alwar. While you eat, the train continues to move. Soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are excluded from your tariff. Hot beverages, however, are included. The menu includes Indian, Chinese, and Western cuisines.
Breakfast is a priority. This includes eggs, toasts, pastries and Indian breads. Yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt or fruit. The destination will determine the lunch and dinner menu. It may include Indian or Continental cuisine. The cabin is equipped with tea and coffee, but food must be ordered at the restaurant. The menu includes a variety of Indian sweets.
The typical meal includes a soup and four to five dishes from each cuisine. Indian bread is served with pickle, chutney, and papad. Desserts include ice cream, traditional sweets, and hot beverages.
