Regardless of whether you are departing on your first Rovos train tour or a seasoned traveler onboard, the Pride of Africa Rovos Rail train never fails to charm its passengers. From the luxury of a Royal Suite with double or twin beds, the lounge, and observation cars to the dining cars, the luxury passengers are greeted by is truly special. You’ll have ample time to take in the spectacular scenery on the Rovos train between stops and excursions.

Dining onboard is also another one of those Rovos Rail specials in 2025 and beyond. The Pride of Africa train dining cars continue with elegant Victorian-style decor complemented by fresh crisp linen and flawless service. The incredible chefs will prepare a fabulous array of dishes that include local delicacies and include game served with fresh seasonal ingredients that you can feast on with some fine South African wines.

The observation car can accommodate 32 people. It features a huge open-air balcony, huge picture windows and a bar, as well as sofas and booths that allow people to socialize or relax in tranquil areas. In the afternoon, tea can be served at the lounge or in the observation cars at 16:30 on the majority of days. The bar service starts at +07:00-01:00.

The lounge car can accommodate up to 26 people. It features large picture windows, couches, and wingbacks which allow for excellent socializing and quiet spaces for relaxation. Tea is offered in the afternoon in the lounge of the observation car at 16:30 every day. The bar service is available from 07:00 until 01:00 on other days. A historian onboard gives lectures inside the car lounge on long travels. A small shop for gifts is situated at the end of the car. It offers a variety of personalised memorabilia and gifts in an elegant, well-lit glass area.

Each dining car can accommodate up to 42 people. The number of people on the train will determine if there are two or one dining cars. There are four seats, two of them and a third car that can be used for private or groups dining. There is only one meal served. Breakfast is from 07:00 to 10:00, lunch 13:00, formal dinner 19:30, unless otherwise stated in the schedule All meals are served during these times. Hot breakfasts are cooked according to your preferences, and dinner and lunch are four-course meals, which are served with premium South African wines. While our bar menu is comprised of numerous items, you’ll have to ask for special items such as French Champagne prior to your visit.

All meals, all drinks on board; accommodation; laundry service; room service excursions with a certified tour guide (where appropriate) and entry fees according to the itinerary; on-board hairstylists, historians, and doctors and tax authorities. Accommodation on the rail trip includes the overnight bags, breakfast including tea/coffee, breakfast juices, snacks, and drinks during the cruise that takes place at sunset.
